Privacy policy
Draft — this page is not final. The final policy wording is being written and will be reviewed by a qualified lawyer before ScholarPath opens to families. Nothing here is legal advice. The footer of every page links the other legal pages and credits.
ScholarPath is a practice platform for Australian primary students and their families. When the final policy is reviewed and published, it will set out everything required by the Australian Privacy Principles, including the collection notice we give parents. In the meantime, here is an honest summary of how the service works today.
What we keep, today
- Parents hold the account: a name-free login using an email address and password, held by Google Firebase Authentication. Children never have accounts or login details of their own.
- A child’s profile keeps only what a family needs: a display name, school year, avatar, a PIN, an optional goal (such as a scholarship test year) and an optional extra-time setting. No school names, no contact details, no photos.
- Answers, timings and results are kept per child so reports and the mistake notebook work, and activity is logged for security and audit using identifiers only — never names or emails.
- Before any of that exists, a parent reads and agrees to a consent statement about their children’s information. Parents can withdraw consent at any time, which stops all use of their children’s information.
Your choices, today
- Download everything we hold about your family, as a single file, from the parent centre.
- Delete your family and everything under it, yourself, at any time.
The final policy will add the full detail: who to contact, how information is stored and secured, how long each kind of information is kept, and the rights parents have. It will be reviewed by a qualified lawyer before ScholarPath opens to families.
